Having lost faith in Delhi Police, AAP leaders to turn into Shahenshah to protect Delhi
After blaming Delhi police for deteriorating law and
order situation in Delhi, the ruling Aam Aadmi Party has decided to
take things in their own hands. Inspired by the Bollywood film Shahenshah, AAP leaders will roam the streets of Delhi at night, fighting crime.
Yesterday, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal had called Delhi police a compromised force. He had also issued them a warning to take actions against errant officers. It seems AAP doesn’t want to wait for police to change and have decided to change themselves.
Bringing up this topic during his 7th press conference for the day, Arvind Kejriwal said, “Aam Aadmi is ruling Delhi now so even the safety of Delhi has to be taken care of by Aam Aadmi. Some of our leaders will dress up like Amitabh Bachchan in the film Shahenshah and patrol the streets of Delhi. Only difference will be, our Shahenshahs will wear Aam Aadmi caps and will be holding a broom instead of a rope that Amit Ji had.”
“Shahenshah wasn’t the only idea put forward in our meeting, some had suggested Batman as well but that was turned down due to several issues. Batman is too posh for an Aam Aadmi, our cap won’t fit on top of his costume and we weren’t sure whether auto drivers on the roads will give side to Batmobiles. Our Batman will be stuck in traffic all the time”, Mr Kejriwal added.
As per sources, rebel MLA Vinod Kumar Binny will be made the chief Shahenshah to calm him down after his recent outbursts. When we contacted Mr. Binny, he seemed very excited about the project. He said,”This is a huge responsibility and I look forward to making Delhi safer for the residents. I have been preparing hard for this task and practicing my dialogues, “Rishte me toh hum tumhare AAP hote hain, naam hai Shahenshah.”
Delhi police has refused to comment on it officially. An ACP on the condition of anonymity told us, “Let them do whatever they want as long as they don’t interrupt our drinking sessions late at night.”
